In the same way as customising news channels really really pisses me off, for the same reason for which specialisation in early education ennoyed me in school , I think that this idea is absolutely out of the question. My brain does not have litle compartments. Besides the war can't neatly and should not neatly be seperated from anything else whether this is media-discources or .... everyday life and if it can that says more about poeples lives than the war. If poeple are not inteligent enough to make connections between the knowledges in question this is not a reason to create compartments but rather to disolve things read and stop searching for boundaries that make them feel safe. this kind of reminds me of going to academic conferences and always being taken to the room with the "others" , that have a common "third world" strategy to plan, the "others" include the predictable majority which I would hope feels the same way about this ( not that I am making claims). To put it very buntly : Nettime is doing more than fine and so is the war! thanks Korinna ps. >From Felipe's earlier mail: "Every list or newsgroup has an evolutionary process" You should read some anti-darwinism! --- > # distributed via nettime-l : no commercial use without permission > # <nettime> is a closed moderated mailinglist for net criticism, > # collaborative text filtering and cultural politics of the nets > # more info: majordomo@desk.nl and "info nettime-l" in the msg body > # URL: http://www.desk.nl/~nettime/ contact: nettime-owner@desk.nl > Korinna Patelis Department of Media and Communications Goldsmiths College-London-SE14 6NW DIRECT LINE 0171-9197243 --- # distributed via nettime-l : no commercial use without permission # <nettime> is a closed moderated mailinglist for net criticism, # collaborative text filtering and cultural politics of the nets # more info: majordomo@desk.nl and "info nettime-l" in the msg body # URL: http://www.desk.nl/~nettime/ contact: nettime-owner@desk.nl
