in collaboration with

"Dance
is the ideal go-between for electronic and real bodies''  Merce
Cunningham

In the interesting times we
live in, dance and image, cinema, video and perfomance art, material and
virtual, actual and outer, have approached eachother more than ever
suggesting the sprung of new complementary and autonomous art forms.
This organic relation between dance, motion and technology, called either
interactive dance, telecast dance, multimedia dance or digital dance, sets out a
new arena for cross-artform experimentation with no anticipated boundaries and
directives.

In an attempt to exlpore the
field of live perfomance interfaced with digital technologies, KalamataÎ?s Dance
Festival and Festival "e-phos" co-organize the special program on
body, motion and technology
"TRANSDANCE". Through lectures,
discussions, debates and a studio workshop "TRANSDANCE" aims
to
launch an organic
dialogue on concepts such as live and virtual
synthesis, among researchers of digital dance, designers of virtual
architecture, media theorists, and transmedia artists.
