The Department of Film and Media Arts at Temple University is searching
for three faculty positions to start in August 2000.

1. A tenure -track assistant professor who is an active, independent new
media artist and/or scholar to teach both new media production and media
history/theory. Will teach in both new media cross-disciplinary program
and the Department of Film and Media Arts. Must have broad knowledge of
new media software tools. Expertise required in some of the
following: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Director, 3-D and digital editing
applications; HTML, Unix and other programming languages. Salary highly
competitive.

2. New Media Three-Year Producer-in-Residence: An associate level,
non-tenure track appointment renewable in one of the constituent
departments. Teaching will focus on multimedia producing in the
intermediate level production course and in the senior projects
course. The Producer-in-Residence will also be expected to support the
program by helping to develop industry relations, identifying guest
lecturers, and advising about selections for exhibition Web site. Industry
experience essential, masters desirable. Salary competitive with industry.

3. A tenure -track assistant professor who is an independent filmmaker
with a strong commitment to teaching. Responsibilities include teaching
introductory, intermediate and advanced graduate and undergraduate film/
video production classes, as well as supervising student's
projects. Expertise required in some of the following areas: directing,
producing, script writing, cinematography, lighting and editing for film
and non-linear video systems. Salary competitive with industry.

The Department of Film and Media Arts enrolls 500 BA and 60 MFA students
in a program dedicated to independent media including documentary, new
media and alternative voices in narrative film and video. These
independent voices include those of women, minorities and others that have
been economically, politically or artistically disenfranchised. For more

An MFA, PHD, or equivalent professional experience is required along with
an impressive portfolio of creative work in film, video, digital media, or
a combination of scholarly and creative work, and a commitment to the
