THE INVITATION
As part of the commitment of Sparwasser HQ to exchange, even widely,
the forms of
communication about contemporary art, we would like to invite you to
a series of
"Artists' Talk", starting Monday the 28th of April, in order to
present artists' recent
works and latest development, with particular emphasis on new, still
in progress, projects.

THE AIM
The aim of the "Peer Critique" is to give the chance for both artists
and audience to
create a direct exchange of information, impressions, feedback, in a
friendly and
constructive environment, where some features of the artists research will be
pointed out and linked to other experiences.

THE DIALOG
The invited artists will present and discuss with the audience their own latest
developments in 1 hour time, and we will present 2 artists each time.
Through the evening some hands-out from the artists will be available, and
we will have a bar service, at discounted prices, to chill out and
relax enjoying
a beer or a glass of wine!

THE ARTISTS
in april /may: Jeroen Offerman, Jean Lee, Zeigam Azizov, Deborah
Ligorio and Karen Yasinski.

artist texts:

JEAN LEE
Jean Lee, Born in Wakefield, UK, currently living in Berlin, Germany,
Studied at
Goldsmiths College, UK.
Makes painterly installations with references to pop art and
sculptures out of plants
dressed up in Versace colors. Recent works have been wallpapered
installations with
objects derived from Pink Panther cartoons and collaged real and fake plants,
transforming banal everyday objects into glamorous art objects.

JEROEN OFFERMAN
Jeroen Offerman, born in Eindhoven, NL, 1970, studied BA Sculpure in
Breda, NL and
MA Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, London, UK.
Works include installation, sculpture, performance and video.
Themes range from romantic nature through urban landscape to
pop-music and popular culture.
Recently Offerman practised for three months in a row to learn to
sing Led Zeppelin's
'Stairway to Heaven' entirely backwards. This was performed and
video-recorded at the
steps of London's St.Paul's Cathedral. The audience at Sparwasser
will get to see this video
and possibly get a demonstration of how the video-performance was
done originally!! This will
then be a premiere! Rock On!
