INTELECTUALII SI POLITICA
Dezbatere intre Vasile Ernu, Ciprian Sulea si Costi Rogozanu

Vasile Ernu este nascut in URSS in 1971. A debutat cu volumul "Nascut in URSS" (Polirom 2006, 2007, 2010) care a fost tradus in mai multe limbi. In 2009 publica la ed. Polirom volumul "Ultimii eretici ai Imperiului". Alaturi de C. Rogozanu, C. Siulea si O. Tichindeleanu este coordonatorul volumului Iluzia anticomunismului, ed. Cartier 2008. In ultimii ani a tinut rubrici in Romania Libera, HotNews, Noua Literatura, Suplimentul de Cultura si Observator Cultural.

Ciprian Siulea este nascut in 1969 la Brasov.

Costi Rogozanu s-a nascut in 1977.

INTELLECTUALS AND POLITICS

Debate between Vasile Ernu, Ciprian Sulea si Costi Rogozanu

The economic crisis emphasized two other crises that were as deep as before, but that, because of rushed enthusiasm and random waves of money, were ignored: the political crisis and the crisis of intellectual public space.
Why is there so little autonomy of intellectual public space? Why is it so irrelevant for politics? How do intellectuals position themselves in respect to politicians and vice versa? What are our chances to change the traditional paradigm of intellectuals associated with the state? What level of rupture and continuity exist, from this point of view, between communism and post-communism?
Some questions that will remain unanswered…

Vasile Ernu was born in USSR in 1971. He graduated from the Philosophy Faculty (Al.I.Cuza University, Iasi, 1996) and obtained a MA in Philosophy (Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj, 1997). He was a founding editor of Philosophy&Stuff magazine and associated editor of Idea arts+society magazine. He made his debut with the volume "Born in the USSR" (Polirom 2006, 2007, 2010), translated into several languages. In 2009 he publishes at Polirom "The last heretics of the Empire". Together with C. Rogozanu, C. Siulea and O. Tichindeleanu he is the coordinator of "The illusion of anticommunism", Cartier 2008. During the last few years, he was a regular contributor to Romania Libera, HotNews, Noua Literatura, Suplimentul de Cultura and Observator Cultural.

Ciprian Siulea was born in 1969 at Brasov. A professor of social sciences between 1995-1999, journalist between 2004 and 2008, currently a translator. Author of the book "Retori, simulacre, imposturi" (Compania, 2003).

Costi Rogozanu was born in 1977. He graduated from the "Unirea" high school in Focsani, specialized in computer science. He studied at the Literature Faculty of Bucharest University. Polirom publishing house edited his critical volume "Agressions, digressions" (2006) and a collection of short stories “Fuck the cool. Tell me a story” (2007). He coordinated together with Siulea, Ernu and Tichindeleanu the anthology “Iluzia anticomunismului”, published by Cartier.
