Ãn cadrul CHIÈINÄU-ArtÄ, Cercetare Ãn Sfera PublicÄ, artistul Èi cineastul*
**Pavel BrÄila*** va prezenta filmul *CHIÈINÄU-un oraÈ dificil de pronunÈat.
* CercetÃnd din 2009 arhivele din findurile Arhivei NaÈionale din Moldova,
Pavel Braila a realizat cÄ imediat dupÄ dezintegrarea URRS-ului Arhiva
NaÈionalÄ nu sa mai ocupat de arhivarea sau producerea
filmelor/videourilor/imaginilor, iar ultimul material arhivat cu referire la
Republica Moldova Èi oraÈul ChiÈinÄu a fost fÄcut prin 1986, dupa care nu sa
mai realizat nimic...practic ÃnsemnÄ cÄ viatÄ Ãn aceastÄ ÈarÄ sa oprit Ãn
loc. AvÃnd Ãn vedere cÄ Ãn cei 20 de ani de independenÈÄ Moldova a trecut
printr-o serie de evenimente importante care din pÄcate nu au fost
documentate.

ÃncepÄnd cu 2010 Pavel Braila a pornit un proiect de arhivare intitulat
Odyssey MD-2010 Èi intenÈia acestuia a fost de a documenta evenimente din
Moldova pe perioada unui an. Un prim pas la constituit filmul pilot de 18
minute - CHIÈINÄU-un oraÈ dificil de pronunÈat. Titlul vine de la o serie de
variaÈiuni a denumirii oraÈului â francezii Ãs spun [schischino], nemÈii
[shizinau], ruÈii [Kishiniov] iar Ãn romÄnÄ se pronunÈÄ ca
[kiÊiânÉw]<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IPA_for_Romanian>





*ChiÅinÄu-ArtÄ, Cercetare Ãn Sfera PublicÄ* are ca scop explorarea
discursurilor instituÅionale Åi politice dominante care au modelat
societatea Åi peisajul urban al ChiÅinÄului pe parcursul istoriei recente.
Proiectul este activat sub forma unei platforme multidisciplinare care Åi-a
propus investigarea conexiunilor dintre simbolurile politice Åi propagandÄ,
la fel Åi impactul acestora asupra mediului urban, interrelaÅia dintre
istoriile personale Åi discursul ideologic Ãn raport cu sfera publicÄ.

In the frame of *CHISINAU- Art, Research in the Public Sphere* the artist
and filmmaker* **Pavel Braila* will prezent the film* **Chisinau - City
Difficult to Pronounce.* In 2009, working with film Archive material in
National Archive of Moldova, Pavel Braila discovered that after the collapse
of the Soviet Union, the National Archive in Moldova stopped collecting and
producing any film/video/photo archive material - which means last visual
material about Moldova and the city of Chsinau was done before 1986 after
this date there is nothing... it is like the country stopped existing or
disappeared. Although in fact, for the last 20 years, the country has passed
through different changes, difficult times and it is still goes through not
easy moments but all this unfortunately is not recorded. In 2010 Pavel
Braila started the archiving project under a title Odyssey MD-2010 and the
intention of this project is to document life in Moldova during one year.
The first step â is a pilot of about 18 min. block "Chisinau - City
Difficult To Pronounce". The title comes from different variants of spelling
the name of the city - french call it [schischino], Germans - [shizinau],
Russians-[Kishiniov] in Romanian pronunciation is

*CHISINAU- Art, Research in the Public Sphere *is a cross-disciplinary
platform that investigates the connections between political and cultural
symbols and propaganda and its impact on the urban environment, the
interference between personal narratives and imported ideologies and
cultural discourses in relation to the public sphere. The project aim is to
explore the dominant institutional and political discourses that have shaped
the society and the urban landscape of the city of Chisinau in the course of
its recent history.
