TEXTground brings together several works which all create their texts in a place of intersection between the texts articulated by the society and the texts which articulate and form society.

These works oscillate between these two constitutive aspects of the society, as a result, as an effect and, respectively, as a generator of texts. Each of the works is simultaneously a recipient of those residual, subliminal texts of the society (the stories, the myths, the supernatural fears and the transindividual powers) which were instrumented throughout the 20th century by the totalitarian ideologies and a generator of the kind of texts which art creates in a discursive manner.

The exhibition wishes to verify the way in which art can function at this politically dangerous junction and to see to what extent can the texts produced by art be considered autonomous.

Cover Story 

  

Cover Story is a subjective selection of recent video works by Romanian young artists. Strangely enough, it speaks simultaneously about some general frames and the hardcore souvenirs, it starts on the cover and it can very well end in the backstreets. It is touched by nostalgia and sometimes by collective trauma, it speaks about history, about its denials and dreams, it speaks about new generations and revolutions-for-sale, but it is first and foremost about the liberating storytelling.
