An important part of this process has been the rise of educational systems for curators. There have been a growing number of curatorial schools and courses, from short workshops to full programs of graduate studies. Just as it is the case with art education, however, curatorial education seems to be a complicated issue. What can be taught and learned in such a process? Can curatorial schools transmit merely technological skills and general information or can they shape and develop one's fundamental positions and understanding of art? Are such schools merely a system of self-reproduction of the system, or do they enable their students positions that oppose conventions and routines? A number of people involved in the process of curatorial education are invited to reflect upon these and other issues. >> >> >> >>This discussion also includes the official launch of the 4th issue of MJ, dealing with the subject of Teaching Curatorship. >> >> >> >>MJ Manifesta Journal is an initiative of the International Foundation Manifesta in collaboration with Viktor Misiano (Moscow) and Igor Zabel (Ljubljana). The International Foundation Manifesta is co-producer of the Manifesta Biennial and supported by the Culture 2000 Programme of the European Commission, the Allianz Kulturstiftung, Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds and Mondriaan Foundation. >> >> >> >> >>For orders / subscriptions MJ Manifesta Journal: Artimo E: info@artimo.net www.artimo.net >> >> >> >>For more information: >> >> >> >>International Foundation Manifesta >> >>Marieke van Hal, Managing Editor MJ >> >>Laurierstraat 185 >> >>NL - 1016 PL Amsterdam >> >>the Netherlands >> >>T: +31 (0)20 6721435 >> >>F: +31 (0)20 4700073 >> >>E: secretariat@manifesta.org >> >>www.manifesta.org >> >> >> >> --- Trimite cele mai frumoase felicitari virtuale prietenilor tai! http://www.felicitari.ro _______________________________________________ Nettime-ro mailing list Nettime-ro@nettime.org http://amsterdam.nettime.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nettime-ro --> arhiva: http://amsterdam.nettime.org/
