News Mind Expanding Cross-Cultural Performance Workshops, Wales: Feb-March 2004 The Centre for Performance Research (CPR) is continuing its highly successful Cross Currents participatory workshops in a programme of five weekend workshops, taking place in different locations in Wales. Each workshop will give participants the opportunity to learn new skills in voice technique, dance, movement and 'theatre for development' and meet a wide range of professional, student and enthusiast performers from around the UK. Italian Performing Arts Workshops, Ireland: July 2004 The newly established Italian College Limited is to offer cultural services in aspects of Italian civilisation. Intensive residential summer workshops under the headings: Drama, Music and Opera will take place in County Dublin, Ireland in July 2004. Proposals for the next European Commission Culture and Media programmes 2007 to 2013. Before Easter 2004, the Commission intends to put forward proposals for the next Culture and Media programmes, to run from 2007 to 2013. The culture ministers have agreed to step up cultural cooperation within Europe and with third countries, especially through more international mobility of artists and their creations, and to facilitate access to the Culture 2000 programme for the new EU countries. Most felt it important to create an internal European market for culture. "Almost Real" international working conference. Final date for registration 15 February. Almost Real is an international working conference (Utrecht, Netherlands: 11-14 March) exploring diverse and innovative ideas on artistic strategies in a rapidly changing Europe. It is being organised within the framework of the European Cultural Foundation's Art for Social Change programme. Opportunities "High Fest" International Theatre Festival, Armenia. Deadline applications for participation - 15 March The main goal of High Fest International Theatre Festival 2004 is the promotion of Worldwide Theatre in Armenia and Armenian Theatre in other countries of the world. New deadline - 29 February Since 1993 Tanztendenzen Greifswald has been an international platform presenting new tendencies in contemporary dance and performing art. The festival was founded with the aim of giving choreographers at the beginning of their artistic development a chance to perform their newest works. Call for participation in 6th Solo and Duo Dance Festival: Budapest, January 2005. Deadline applications - 3 May The 6th Solo and Duo Dance Festival, organised by Orkesztika Foundation in MU Theatre, Budapest, will be held in January 2005. The Festival provides opportunities for individual dancers and dance groups to realise their artistic concepts and through this event to get feedback that they can use to develop themselves. International Festival THEATRE METHODS: Riga, 5-7 November 2004 The Festival is organized by the International University Global Theatre Experience (IUGTE), the annual professional fair of contemporary methods in performing arts. The main objects of the festival are to demonstrate various theatre methods, to share and exchange experience in professional theatre education and methods of rehearsal process.
