December 31, 2001 CALL FOR ENTRIES - Fifth Annual Peace Arch Park
International Sculpture Exhibition, May 1 ~ September 30,
2002. Artists from the United States and Canada are invited to submit
outdoor sculptures to be featured at the Fifth Annual Peace Arch Park
International Sculpture Exhibition. A panel of international art
experts and international park management will jury the
exhibition. The criteria for selecting the art for exhibition includes
artistic impression, quality, durability, aesthetic appeal, and park
and community appropriateness. All materials must be completely
weatherproof and suitable for public viewing. Site specific proposals
are acceptable.  The top three entries will receive cash
awards. Artists benefit from international exposure and recognition by
being featured in North America's most celebrated peace park. A self
guided art and park history tour brochure accompanies the
exhibit. Since 1998, the Peace Arch Park International Sculpture
Exhibition has featured artworks created by 36 American & Canadian
fine artists. Over 500,000 people visit the historic international
peace park each year. The exhibit is presented by the United States
Canada Peace Anniversary Association, in cooperation with Washington

December 31, 2001 The Florida Outdoor Sculpture Competition, a joint
project of the Polk Museum of Art and the City of Lakeland, is
accepting submissions for a Public Art exhibition in downtown
Lakeland. Open to sculptors working in North America. 10 works will be
accepted and will receive $1,000 to cover transportation. $3,000 Best
of Show. Deadline is January 31, 2002. Artists may submit labeled
slides of up to three completed works, with 2 - 3 views of each work,
along with a resume, one paragraph artist statement, and

December 31, 2001 Distinguished Visiting Faculty Position The Center
for Arts in Society, Carnegie Mellon University 2002-2003 Scholars and
artists in any field of humanistic inquiry or artistic endeavor are
invited to apply for the position of Distinguish Visiting
Faculty. Applicants should hold senior rank and have interests
corresponding to the Center's theme for the year 2002-2003, "Art in a
Time of Catastrophe." The successful applicant will be appointed to
the Center for one semester of the academic year. He or she will teach
one course; participate in the work of the Center in an advisory
capacity; and give one public lecture. The appointee will be expected
to be in residence in Pittsburgh during the term of the appointment.

January 31, 2002 2 POSITIONS--ART HISTORIANS THE UNIVERSITY OF TULSA,
The School of Art is seeking candidates for two tenure-track art
history positions, beginning Academic Year 2002-03. 1) Assistant
Professor of Art History, specializing in 20th century art with
background to teach 19th century and some non-western/world art; 2)
Assistant Professor of Art History, specializing in Renaissance,
Medieval, or Baroque art and non-western/world art. Both positions
