nettime-nl: new release from Anomalous Records

Andrew Chalk / Ralf Wehowsky / Eric Lanzillotta
"Yang-Tul"
LP
NOM 3

An international sound collaboration. Side one features Andrew Chalk
gently reworking the sound materials of Ralf Wehowsky. A hypnotic drone
with waves of mysterious sound. Side two, on the other hand, seeing Ralf
composing a frenzied journey into otherworldly realms using sound material
from Andrew and Eric Lanzillotta. These pieces reflect a sound unique from
the work of any of the three individual participants, but clearly related
to it. Subtle, but full of detail for the listener willing to pay
attention.

Ralf Wehowsky is from Germany has been pioneering different forms of
collaborative projects and sound-ecology (like recycling of musical
material) since the early eighties. Today he´s one of the few composers
being respected in underground circles, chill out rooms and serious
avantgarde concert halls simultaneously. Many of his recent compositions
have been performed at European new music festivals where Stockhausen,
Kagel, Cage and the likes started a few years earlier. Ralf's work is
primarily released through Selektion, under this initials RLW. He has also
had work released through Table of the Elements and Metamkine.

Andrew Chalk is English and was member of Ferial Confine, Organum, and Ora
as well as collaborating with The New Blockaders, Vortex Campaign,
Giancarlo Toniutti, and Jonathan Coleclough. His solo releases have been
infrequent, though always memorable and increasing in number with the
latest being "East of the Sun" on Italy's Hic Sunt Leones and a new album
forthcoming from Christoph Heemann's Streamline label.

Eric Lanzillotta is the founder of Anomalous Records and has very little
material released so far. The first release under his own name was the
track on "Tulpas". However, in the past Eric has contributed to recordings
by Hands To and performed in collaboration with bernhard günter. In May,
he performed solo at the Beyond Music Sound Festival in Los Angeles
alongside Richard Lerman, Achim Wollscheid, Small Cruel Party, White Winged
Moth and others.

this album is produced in an edition of 548 copies on blue vinyl and
feature a full color cover with a painting by Andrew Chalk.
