Re: <nettime> Thomas Hirschhorn exhibition |
What is great, sublime, to speak frankly, about artists is their bitchy contrariness. Not for them the gaa-gaa adoration and/or gag-me-cecil vilification of the art work, go for the competition's jugular, lioness on a boar's back, one aim only: to savage the idiot's windpipe. Nightingalish curators will patch the gash, or widen it, or infect it, applying holy water as the carcass cools and the sell value skyrockets, it is the duty of the artist to do unto artists what artworld does to artists, defiles the maker, so rise up unslumbered, mortally wound the hapless bastard who gets a show, worse, gets a show that is noticed, the more notice the hotter determination to erase that worthless fakir-fucker's existence, painfully, display tools of the artifice splashed with blood, goaded public appalled, notice faintly promised.
