<nettime> European Union's report on Echelon

The European Union's lengthy report into the Echelon spy
system calls on the UK to pull out to prove its commitment to
the EU wants the US, Australia and New Zealand to sign
a treaty promising not to use Echelon for industrial espionage
and recommends that everyone encrypt their emails using
open-source software. The report is at
