AESTHETIC - RESPONSIBILITY - DRONES

Das Verhältnis zwischen Mensch und Objekt und die Frage nach der 
Verantwortlichkeit, wenn Maschinen und Drohnen selbst »handeln«,  stehen 
im Mittelpunkt eines sechstägigen philosophisch-ästhetischen 
Forschungslabors an der  Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee (2.-7. Mai 
2013). Die Diskussionen, Vorträge und Workshops in Englischer Sprache 
sind ein Angebot an NachwuchskünstlerInnen und Studierende; zwei 
Vorträge  sind öffentlich.

Der erste öffentliche Vortrag von Mark Bishop, Professor für  Cognitive 
Computing, Goldsmiths University of London, findet am  Donnerstag, den 
2. Mai 2013, um 19 Uhr statt: »All watched over by  machines of empty 
grace?«. Der zweite mit dem Titel »The Subject of Art« wird am Dienstag, 
den 7. Mai 2013, um 19 Uhr, von dem  Philosophen Marcus Steinweg, 
Hochschule der Bildenden Künste  Braunschweig, gehalten. Ort: Kunsthalle 
am Hamburger Platz,  Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee, 
Gustav-Adolf-Straße 140, 13086  Berlin. Eintritt frei.

Das Forschungslabor wird von den Migrating Art Academies (MigAA) in 
Kooperation mit der Kunsthochschule, Prof. Hannes Brunner (Bildhauerei), 
Prof. Hanna Hennenkemper (Malerei), und mit Unterstützung der 
Litauischen Vereinigung von Interdisziplinären Künstlern sowie Top e.V. 
zur Förderung kultureller Praxis  veranstaltet.

AESTHETIC -  RESPONSIBILITY - DRONES

The relationship between man and object, and the question of 
responsibility when machines and drones »act” on their own, are at the 
center of a six-day philosophical-aesthetic research lab at Weißensee 
Academy of Art Berlin (May 2—7, 2013). The debates and workshops (in 
English) are for emerging artists and students, but two lectures are 
open to the public.

The first public lecture, by Mark Bishop, professor of cognitive 
computing at Goldsmiths University of London, will take place on 
Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 7 pm: »All watched over by machines of empty 
grace?« The second lecture entitled »The Subject of Art« by the 
philosopher Marcus Steinweg, Hochschule der Bildenden Künste 
Braunschweig, will be on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 7 pm. Both lectures 
will be at Kunsthalle am Hamburger Platz, Weißensee Academy of Art 
Berlin, Gustav-Adolf-Straße 140, 13086 Berlin. Admission is free.

The research lab is organized by the Migrating Art Academies (MigAA) in 
cooperation with the  Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin, professors Hannes 
Brunner  (sculpture), Hanna Hennenkemper (painting), and with the 
support of the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists' Association and Top 
e.V. association supporting cultural practices.
