Syndicate: SYMPOSIUM: After the Wall 15-16 October


dear friends,
below is the information about the symposium and the syndicate meeting in
stockholm next week. due to programme changes in the symposium (which now
starts in the morning), we shifted the syndicate meeting to the evening
[18.00-19.30] both for the closed meeting on friday and the public
presentations on saturday. we may need some improvisation on the spot - and
would welcome the preparation of sandwiches and drinks by the Moderna
Museet nudge nudge - but like this it should work.

SYMPOSIUM: After the Wall 15-16 October

Moderna Museet in co-operation with the Swedish
Institute/Partnership for Culture has invited art historians,
philosophers, writers and critics from Eastern Europe to
participate in a symposium which considers the changes in art and
visual culture which have taken place in the decade since the fall
of the Berlin Wall. Among the invited speakers are Edit András,
Helena Demakova, Ekaterina Dyogot, Lóránd Hegyi, Dina Iordanova
and Piotr Piotrowski. The symposium will cover the following
topics: Central European art after the Second World War;
contemporary Eastern European arts and politics; new identities
within gender roles; art, advertisement and media in the East
after 1989
