Studio XX is now accepting applications for the position of
ProgrammingCoordinator. Studio XX is a feminist organization dedicated to
providingwomen with access to digital technologies and promoting
socio-culturalintervention in these areas.

The Programming Coordinator is responsiblefor coordinating Studio XX public
artistic events, relations and collaborative projects withartists and
arts/cultural organizations, and co-productions. The programming
coordinatordirects the Maid in Cyberspace annual web art festival and the
Femmes branchées ?show-and-tell? series on women and technology. The
programming coordinator will supervise the Studio?s monthly electronic
newsletter and oversee its web site. The Programming Coordinator would also
beexpected to provide the general manager with support in writing
grantapplications.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong knowledge of newtechnologies
and new media art (particularly web art); have an understanding of the
challenges facing artist-runcentres; and be able to work in a team
environment. Ideally the candidatewill be fluently bilingual
(English/French), with strong communication skills and excellent writing
skillsin at least one language.

This is a contract position beginning on August 16, 1999 and ending April
30, 2000, for a total of 970 hours at $11,640 for the contract ($12/hour).
The position is part-time in September-October 1999 and mid-March/April
2000; it will be full-time from November 1999-March 17, 2000.

these areas. The general manager isresponsible for the overall
administration and management of Studio XX.She is responsible for
overseeing the financial, human and technicalresources of the Studio and
for ensuring that all activities and eventsundertaken by XX reflect its
feminist mandate and commitment to women'saccess to new technologies. She
is responsible for overall relations withthe community at-large, including
volunteer recruitment and publicrelations. Ideally the candidate would be
will be fluently bilingual(English/French), with excellent French-language
writing skills and have management experience in a women?s, arts or
cultural organization.

This is a core staff, full time position, at a salary of $23,000 per  year
with 6 weeks paid vacation. Start date: August 17, 1999.
