Syndicate: JUNCTION

Hi *Syndicalists,

This is my first message in which I want to inform you that
efforts are undertaken to organize a *Syndicate meeting titled 
"Junction" in Skopje on the dates 03.-04.October, in the frameworks
of the Skopje Electronic Arts Fair '98. 

We expect quite a few active members of the *Syndicate List
>from across the European Continent to gather in Skopje to discuss the
current issues that the art&media community is facing, the undertaken
actions, as well as to investigate the possible developments of the
*Syndicate. The participants, as you all know, include artists, theorists, art curators,
directors of various art institutions, journalists, media activists.

Goals of Junction: 

- To  discuss the implementation of the artistic, philosophic, educational, 
and other aspects of the new and emerging media in various parts of Europe 
with an emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe.  

- To promote the European East-West exchange of ideas and discuss the techniques
that will assisist the communication within the European emerging electronic
art&media scene.

- To find practical ways of enabling the access of necessary technology to the artists 
on the East. 

- To find ways and means of improving the study of the emerging arts and new technologies.

However, as this is quite broad there have been additional proposals for the theme of this meeting. 
The most current is by Andreas Broeckmann from our famous *Syndicate 
meeting in Stockholm.
TERRITORIALITY. 
As Skopje is in the heart of the Balkans I feel it could be an appropriate theme.
I would like to hear some other opinions on this.  

As for ways of getting to Skopje on the meeting I will write to you shortly...
