17.01.97 * join Art's 1000034th Birthday (AA) celebrations * here comes
that time of year when we work on planning program for next january 17
* 17.01.97 marks Arts' 1000034th Birthday according to robert filliou's
histoire chuchotée de l'art*
(French artist Robert FILLIOU proclaimed Jan.17.1963 (also his Birthday) to
be Art's 1000000th Anniversary. This arbitrary and revendicative act
projected a utopic desire for worldwide official proclamation of AA by
political powers in the spirit of La Fête permanente and recognition of
artist work and implication. For 34 years now, people and groups have
gathered celebrating and promoting AA and activate for its political
officialisation. Quebec City has decreted AA as others have, in Québec,
Canada, Europe. We NOW invite you to contribute to this utopy.

All groups concerned with AA  in the past (and others) are  now contacted
and encouraged to organise manifestations in their community and to inform
Le Lieu of their programm ASAP.
We suggest you to promote this day your original way in your community and
approach local politics with the demand for AA concrete/official
proclamation. In Québec, Le Lieu coordinates with collaboration of other
artists run centers the following programm : we will be playing bowling
(involving staff/members of 5 artists run org.) ; having supper ; live
radio prog on 2 communautary stations ; (maybe on local tv) ; Internet
CU-See Me connection and/or e-mail+fax+phone ; all ending up in a convivial
party with local bands. * (Communicate us with your intention to organise
activities on 17.01.97/We will include all info we receive on a global
programm that we will forward  to a wide network of groups and inviduals in
beginning of January  informing of what is happening worldwide on the day
of the 17.01 and how to contact the various active locations. (See below)

Le Lieu will assume technical coordination for network communications on
17.01.97. People/Groups will be linked by phone/fax/Internet (e-mail +
CU-See Me that allows live audio/video links). This « gathering » uses
multiple means of rather low tech tools to allow reaching people/groups in
their various situations. Your participation could be sending AA wishes for
example that we and others on the network can communicate through our/their
public activities and redistribute on the network. If you have access to a
AV computer (supporting video memory), a modem, and regular access to
Internet, you should be able to operate CU-See Me without great
complications (see below). We will be interacting with (as confirmed yet)
Vancouver, Toulouse, Paris, Belfast, Hull (England) and YOU? We appreciate
you to confirm your intention to use CU-See Me so we know to « look » for
you/list your participation/and try to connect with as little problems as
possible. You could also send messages from your favorite Cybercafé.

CU-See Me. For Internet surfers, CU-See Me link will be activated [for 24
hours (to avoid jetlag limitations between Am-Euro-Asia etc)]on Jan 17 with
collaboration of a mirror site in Marseille (Marc Parronchi/Les Internautes
associés). CU-See Me allows audio/video transmission using AV computer
(supporting video input and memory) + modem (regular phone line*don't need
isdn line* 28000 bauds allows sending/receiving video signal/14000 allows
video receiving and chat tx mode + domestique camera (vhs, 8, Hi-8...). You
will find technical info on downloading, installing and using CU-See Me on
