First published at the age of 16, JT Leroy released his first
novel, Sarah, last year to rave reviews. Sarah
hit numerous best-seller lists both in the US and abroad, was praised by
authors such as Bruce Benderson, Joel Rose and Mary Gaitskill and is
currently being made into a film by director Gus Van Sant. He is
currently in collaboration with Rebecca Goldstein at No Hands Productions
on an independent Television series called House Arrest, and

Shout magazine in which he writes a diary, and continues to do interviews

present the premiere reading from The Heart is Deceitful Above All
Things, LeRoy's latest collection of short stories as well as
excerpts from Sarah, just released in paperback (both
published by Bloomsbury). Reading from LeRoy's work will be author Mary

hosted by author Joel Rose (New York Sawed in Half, Kill Kill Faster
Faster) who has known J.T. LeRoy since he's sixteen years old. Copies of
the books will be available for purchase from Clovis Press.

Shirley Manson speaks of LeRoy's work: " I can't tell you how much it
touched me. I devoured The Heart is Deceitful Above All
Things?/bold> in one diabolical rollercoaster of a sitting.I can only
equate reading it?to the first time I ever heard someone like Billie
Holiday or Kurt Cobain sing. His writing is so brave and crazy,
beautiful and powerful. He's a one in a trillion smack bang original."???
