I INTERNATIONAL LEADING LIGHTS ON LINE COMPETITION

The I International Leading Lights On Line Competition calls for your
bold, creative, intelligent digital work. It should take as their central theme
one of the most influential figures of the 20th century who have
been the focus of study during the cycle of installations Leading Lights
of the 20th Century, presented at the CCCB since 1998, and/or any such
figure that participants are free to choose.

The Leading Lights of the 20th Century emerge at a turning point, at the
change of century and millennium, which calls for a critical, creative
stocktaking of one of the most tremendous and terrible centuries in
history, in the form of a review of its foremost figures.

Nietzsche, Freud, Marx and Woolf; Welles, Duchamp, McLuhan, Foucault and
many, many others. These figures have been responsible for the most
radical metamorphoses in science, art and thought in the last one
hundred years. They have been teachers, inventors and visionaries; the talents
of a century which is now at an end. They are the Leading Lights of the
20th century.

The deadline for entries is 30 September 2001.
