+++INVITATION+++TRANSFORMERS+++UFO BELGRADE+++OPENING+++NOV 6TH 7PM+++ +++INVITATION+++TRANSFORMERS+++OPENING+++NOV 6TH 7PM+++ UFO Belgrade URBAN FOG OF BELGRADE the city in the foggy quest for new urbanity Opening: 6th November, 7pm BIKINIHAUS in the City West Budapester Straße 48 - 10787 Berlin For the second exhibition in the series "Transformers" Francesca Ferguson has invited guest curators from Belgrade, who will reflect the present state of urban identities and hybrid architectures in Serbia's capital city. The curators Katherine Carl, Sabine von Fischer, Stevan Vukovic und Srdjan Jovanovic Weiss with their project UFO Belgrade, see the city is seen here as a group of actors without a script. After half a century of Tito's liberal communism, then Milosevic's introverted nationalism, then open popular revolt and desire to re-join the World, these pieces show a complex ambition towards a 'dream' of definite positioning of Belgrade in the face of current North Atlantic associations. The complexity of its diverse population and history is now looked at as a burden, as a complication in the process of European integration. UFO Belgrade exposes an array of personal and collective analysis of the ambitions and desires for the city to be reinvented.
