A Newsletter 05-2001 JavaMuseum Edition: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: JavaMuseum Forum for Internet Technologies in Contemporary Art www.javamuseum.org (JAVA= Joint Advanced Virtual Affairs) :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Dear friends, 15 May 2001 is the definite deadline for submitting New Media art works to the first online project of JavaMuseum, entitled: **1st of Java - Perspectives on New Media** Artists working on web-based projects are invited to submit their excellent works in the categories Flash, Html, Java, Javascript, Dhtml, VRML, Quicktime and Miscellaneous (technologies which do not fit in the afore mentioned categories). The project has no specific subject, but is intending to spotlight the actual artistic working with new media technologies. The result of the preselections will be published until **31 May**. The finalists and extracted from there "The JAVA Artists of the Year 2001" JAVA = Joint Advanced Virtual Affairs) will be determined until **30 June 2001**. "1st of Java - Perspectives on New Media" - the online exhibition of the finalist's works - will be opened in the beginning of September on JavaMuseum server.The solo shows of "The JAVA Artists of the Year 2001" will be presented online from September until the end of 2001. The exact dates will be announced right in time. Each artist can submit up to three (3) works in each category. Participating is free of charge.
