... ist ein multifunktionaler Ort des Festivals: Festivalcafé und
Präsentationsforum. Am 6.2, 8.2 und 9.2 finden dort Kurzpräsentationen
von Medienkünstlern, Networkern, Kulturschaffenden und Wissenschaftlern
statt. Es werden eine Reihe von Arbeiten zwischen Film, Netz und Netzwerk
gezeigt, manche davon als work-in-progress Projekte.

... ist ein neues Format bei der transmediale.01. Damit gibt die
transmediale.01 auch aktuellen Projekten ein Forum, die sich nicht unter
dem Festivalthema DIY subsumieren lassen.

... der Eintritt zum Salon ist frei.

... is a multifunctional festival venue for the transmediale.01. This
festival café and presentation forum is also a place where visitors can
meet, communicate and pass on their knowledge. On  6.2, 8.2 and 9.2, the
Salon is the site of compact presentations of current media projects by
media artists, networkers, cultural workers and scientists with a range of
very different projects, some of which are still in development.

... it allows direct, spontaneous discussions among a small audience, and
provides a forum for projects unable to be comprehended by the festival
theme of DIY.

... the entrance is free.

Der Künstler Florian Thalhofer wird seine Arbeit [korsakow syndrom]
zeigen, einen nonlinearen, interaktiven Dokumentarfilm zum Thema Alkohol,
der aus über 150 Einzelfilmen besteht, die über eine Datenbank
miteinander verlinkt sind.

Artist Florian Thalhofer presents his HdK-diploma work [korsakow syndrom],
a non-linear, interactive documentary on the subject of alcohol, composed
of some 150 single clips, linked to each other via a data base and made up
of selected and incidental stories relating to the filmmaker‘s

Das Label Karo Toons, ein Berliner Trickfilm-Kollektiv, launcht die
Online-Animationsserie Novoman & Ravi, zwei Figuren, die sich durchs
Grossstadtleben schlagen.

The Berlin Label Karo Toons, a film-animation collective presents their
latest project, an animated flash series for the Internet, Novoman & Ravi
dealing with city life in Berlin

netzspannung.org ist eine Internet-Plattform für digitale Kunst und
Kultur: Künstler und Wissenschaftler entwickeln intermediale
Sendeformate, entwerfen mediale Inszenierungen und erproben Mixed Reality
Medienräume. netzspannung.org lädt ein zum Austausch zwischen
verschiedenen Disziplinen und Kunstformen und erforscht vernetzte
Produktion mit digitalen Medien.

netzspannung.org is an information, communication and production platform
for art, culture and new media. netzspannung offers multimedia archives,
communications tools and production components. Its key tasks lies in the
formation of a community where memebers regard themselves as part of a
virtual Internet platform, and work together in shaping it.

[multi mind] - die Dokumentation

[multi mind] ist ein experimentelles Videokommunikationssystem bestehend
aus 32 vernetzten, mobilen oder stationären Computern. Das öffentliche
Experiment, das auf die aktive Mitarbeit der Ausstellungsbesucher zählt,
wurde in den Deichtorhallen, Hamburg bei der 1. Triennale der Photographie,
Ausstellung "Wohin kein Auge reicht" durchgeführt.

[multi mind] is a research installation consisting of 32 connected mobile
or stationary computers. It is a public experiment which needs active
participation on behalf of the exhibitions visitors. The project was part
of the 1st Triennale der Photographie, Ausstellung "Wohin kein Auge reicht"
at the Deichtorhallen, Hamburg.

New Media Art in Belarus - Neue Mediekunst aus Weissrussland
eine einmalige Gelegenheit, Video- und Computerarbeiten aus der jungen
weissrussischen Medienkunstszene zu erleben, vorgestellt von Tatiana
Novikova in Anwesenheit der 4 jungen weissrussischen Medienkünstler.

EMARE ist ein einzigartiges Netzwerk europäischer Medienlabore, das von
der Werkleitz Gesellschaft in Sachsen-Anhalt initiiert wurde und Teil des
European Cultural Backbone ist. EMARE Koordinator Peter Zorn präsentiert
das EMARE Programm und zeigt eine Auswahl an Film- und Videoarbeiten, die
in den letzten Jahren entstanden sind.

EMARE is a unique network of European Media LAbs initiated through
Saxony-Anhalt's Media Art Center Werkleitz Gesellschaft under the umbrella
of teh European Cultural Backbone. EMARE Coordinator Peter Zorn introduces
the EMARE programme and shows a selection of a video and film works which
got commissioned through EMARE in the last 5 years.
