Diego Vega is one of the most active and performed Colombian composers. His music has been performed in some of the most important concert halls in the United States, Europe and Latin America. He has has composed music for soloists, a variety of chamber groups, symphony orchestras, wind ensembles, choral ensembles, and computer music. He has incorporated elements of Colombian traditional music into some of these works.
Currently he is working on 3 commissions: a piano quartet for the Finger Lakes Chamber Ensemble, in Ithaca, New York, a work for string orchestra for the Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia, and a new orchestra piece for the Ithaca College Chamber Orchestra.  Also, he is currently a visiting scholar at Stanford University, in California, where he is learning and researching on aspects of music perception and computer generated sound.
