Kaffe Matthews is one of the most active artists on the new electronic music scene, whose surprisingly rare approach exploiting digital gadgets and live performance has resulted in some unique works which transgress any boundary between sound and image. since 1996 she has been regularly performing all over the world. 
Playing the space in the dark through multiple speakers, she samples, improvises and processes via microphones and a small theremin, now making beautifully clear more minimal works, playing architecturally with lines and bending them. breaking them and patterning them. re-grabbing them with the shape of the space, but still with a spontaneity, a twist to colour. crack, drop. imparts a little humour, occasional absurdity, giving digital sounds some kind of organic grace. 
Recently she has collaborated and performed with agf, mimeo, Sachiko M, Andrea Neumann, Marina Rosenfeld, Ikue Mori, Oren Ambarchi, Christian Fennesz, is working on a duo with Andy Moor(the EX), a trio with visual artist Mandy McIntosh and Zeena Parkins (weightless animals) and a new formation of the lappetites(agf+Ryoko Kujiwama).
