to add a note about access for the "masses'.. perhaps getting the the
"masses" online so they can be passively subdued consumers rather than
informed and liberated is more the adgenda.. 

IBM and the trade union movement in australia have just signed a deal so
that "workers"  who otherwise could not afford to purchase new eqipment,
and i believe the hype goes " More importantly thier children", can have a
new computer and 4hrs internet access for $Au10 a week, payable over a 3.5
year period.  thats the equivalent to the (heavily taxed) price of a
packet of cigarettes here.
