Re: <nettime> Linux wins Prix Ars due to MICROSOFT INTERVENTION

dear nettimers,

so nobody belived the hoax? some did...

the jury-member as a laboratory rat

last week, *der falter*, a vienna based (reputable) weekly city magazine
entiteled its culture-column: *ars electonica: the jury-member as a
laboratory rat*. vitus h. weh writes that after he had finished his article
about ars, an e-mail dropped into his mailbox which said that some of the
jury-members felt as manipulated laboratory rats. (...) It seemed that
short before the golden nica - award obviously a major scandal became
public. Then he repeats the contents of the mail, explains something about
linux/open source and closes with the words: *to sell the whole reputable
festival as an advertising-event for technology-enterprises should be
thought over again.*

*the journalist as a laboratory rat* would have been the better title...
