i can no longer see, only reading remains. Indigent, I perch what remains of
the remains on a Stanley Kubrick print out. Canny dude who combined celbrity
Scientology with full frontal nudity to give us full screen voyuerism. He
could not forsee that the one item he had failed to check, the distribution
figures for a Jerry Lewis comedy, would be the deceiding factor. One tiny
error, and he inherited a world of woe. Later an aide commented: "His
Strengths set him up, weakened his will, made him kindly, even pliant, and it
killed him." Politics is precision pollyanna-isms. Pat Buchanan a "populist"

A newspaper reports that bored Royal Air Force pilots stationed on the
Falkland Islands have devised what the consider a marvelous new game.
Noting that the local penguins are fascinated by airplanes, the pilots
search out a beach where the birds are gathered and fly slowly along it at
the water's edge.

Perhaps ten thousand penguins turn their heads in unison watching the
planes go by, and when the pilots turn around and fly back, the birds turn
their heads in the opposite direction, like spectators at a slow-motion
tennis match. Then, the paper reports: "The pilots fly out to sea and
directly to the penguin colony and overfly it. Heads go up, up, up, and
ten thousand penguins fall over gently onto their backs.

Recent studies also suggest that children and infants who sleep in a
room lit by even the most subdued nightlights suffer eye problems
such as short-sightedness...in comparison to children who sleep in a
darkened room.

Watch television and you may want to give up the creative impulse...
simply because the intrinsic qualities are always reductive when
bigmoney is at stake. Watch tv for six hours a day and you'll be too
tired to read.

The western alphabet, since it is purely phonetic, probably gives its
users a different perception of space --in comparison to first-language
users of pictorial-based alphabets such as Greek, Hebrew, Japanese,
Chinese, Russian, where space was codified into the two dimensional
depiction.

As Borges said, 'book speaks to book'; the readers become the writers...
tv speaks to no-one in particular....

politics is simply something concerning people; it deals with common
denominators. It cannot tolerate the exception. Each one of us is an
exception unless we choose not to be.

Emission impossible

Am I the sexiest person in the building? This was my waking thought. I see
something terrible when I look directly into the shard of mirror. They're
beating me down, bit by bit, cosmetically, and every meal they slide
through the bars is proof. Despite which assault ideas keep coming to me,
exactly the punishable offense that landed me here in the first place. For
instance: to resist progress is to imagine yourself as a scene of torture.
The other day they hooked me to a machine called a "Dazzling 5 Workout,"
simple in design but utterly impossible to read correctly, marked with
sloppy, ill-translated settings like "high sweat," "tumult," and "super
breeze." Staring at it in the courtyard I thought, easy or hard?

In fact the basic problem of imprisonment may be the flourishing of your
imagination; it had never occurred to me. But my dreams are more vivid
than ever, particularly the one in which I've been cast into the desert, no
longer able to produce melanin and bursting into flames instead, a dream I
know must have political content but which so far has only suggested to me
I've become over-invested in myself as a person with skin. Sometimes the
nightly scenes of electro-muscular training are broken by the image of an
old comrade, a friend from the days of late-night subterfuge and splashing
the embassy stop-the-madness red, who appears before me on my way to room
101 to call out, "ĦAy, su madre! This is why realism has failed."

I think anxiety is your body's attempt to control the passage of time by
straddling it and then squeezing its thighs, poor thing. It's a
moment-to-moment strategy whose cumulative effects of wear and tear are
only visible against the backdrop of long solitude, which has revealed to
me the desperate hope and false, child-like belief embedded in every human
intake of breath. Now that each of my remaining cellmates has been
removed, I can hear my chest recite these nights the strange asthmatic
thesis of air I never knew I'd memorized: what once was lost will soon be
found, what once was lost, which makes me want to hug myself for having
been a fool. The only reason I threw myself so hard at revolution was to
learn the lesson of forgiveness that would teach me how to have a body; has
capture taught it me instead? And when the bolt slides open, will they see
it in my eyes?

i can't see, but i can read. its been weeks since the stuff of the present
overwhelmed the indigent in me. i no longer can rest-driven by visions which
only Moloch can make good on. But at times the present does fade to future
then past, then half life. Mass psychosis takes on a new appeal. Perhaps I
should have made that turn toward oblivion sooner, but the pull, there at the
meta center was to strong. Its your strengths that get you.. let you down,
