Re: <nettime> Nettime Criticism



Can people discover their social connections to distant others around the
world and act upon them? Or is the global system doomed to repeat the
pathologies of the past, the conflict and exploitation, until one day
people explode into violent rebellion? A frail basis for optimism lies in
the fact that these global forces are not new to the world, but all have
been experienced before. Perhaps through conscientious self-knowledge,
people can find ways to avert tragedy. Perhaps.
