Sorry, I was too terse here. I should have said "I raised the point that the 
whole Domain Name System scales only because of the locality of reference. If 
I am at machine xxxx.cwi.nl I will look up .cwi.nl addresses more often than 
other .nl addresses, and those more often than general addresses. The way DNS 
is designed hinges on this principle for scalability. Paul thought that this 
scalability was not a big deal".

I think I'll let the issue rest in this forum from now on, it is becoming 
rather too focussed, as some people pointed out,
