Indeed. But there's a downside. My research over the last few years has suggested that this is the reason why schools are being forced to use IT. Nearly all other justifications (promised improvements of all kinds) have been falsified - and are still kept up. This calls for an analysis of the ideology behind it, which is obviously the Californian Ideology (or Dataism, if you prefer). Backed by this ideology, it certainly is a convincing idea to turn kids into computers by teaching them computational thinking. In Austria, all kids get a computer at Year 5 for free in school. No further questions, Your Honours.
