<nettime> Fwd: Youth Empowerment in a Digital Society - Online Festival

This looks like an interesting international discussion about politics in online networks, aimed at youth.  Online video sessions today (starting in a few hours) and the next two days.

It feels like youth get sold first in each new layer of media tech / social restructuring of the networked era, and they are flexible, adaptable and vulnerable enough to buy into them quickly.  So looking at youth digital life is a great way to see into the future, as those youth bring their learned behaviours into their working and academic and activist lives.

WYRED online festival 22 -24th October 2019

'Society is changing, the tools we use are changing, the way we express ourselves is changing. Young people are at the forefront of this change, but they rarely get a chance to say what they think, or to influence policy. WYRED aims to give the young a voice.'
 - netWorked Youth Research for Empowerment in a Digital society.

For the last three years PYE has been a proud partner of the WYRED project, listening to children and young people across Europe, exploring the things that matter in order to tell the people in power.

The WYRED project will close with the online Festival from 22nd October to 24th October 10:00am to 16:00 CET (check local times here).

Day 1: Internet Safety and Information
