Oh, this is good:

[DSK]
"I believe that we need to think different, we need a change in the logic, we need a radically new direction to reframe the negotiations with Greece."
Which sounds to me like the unpopularity of the troika's austerity program and of the FUD it's now spreading over the upcoming referendum are only due to a failure of messaging.

And it seems to me that if DSK hadn't gotten busted for pimping the only difference today is that it would be his mug instead of Christine Lagarde's across the table.

"The [Greek] government would have to start collecting taxes and confronting the oligarchy [and collecting taxes on them too?], the vested interests and the Deep State [and throw the secret policemen and NSA partners out of work?] that are sapping its formidable potential."

That's it; the Greek government needs to bravely cave into the troika, and speak truth to the powerless.

Based on nothing but a hunch, I think the brave talk about how easily the Eurozone can shrug off a Grexit is to cover the fact that banks of Europe are more exposed than they will admit, with a lot of toxic landfill still on the books but tucked away somewhere. It's not like anyone went to jail or was disgraced, so where's the incentive for bankers to clean up their act?

Just my two drachmas,

Carl
