<nettime> Venezuela Online Forum: Governance and Civic Society

For those interested in issues of governance and civic society in Venezuela
under the current political process, here is an invitation to participate in
an online forum launched by people from Montalb?n, a rural community in
Carabobo state (northwest of Caracas).

Montalb?n currently hosts a rather interesting experience in which
Bolivarian circles, unions, environmental groups, agro-industry and parties
(opposition and government supporters) have joined under a conflict
resolution effort to devise a strategic plan that advances social
development in the region. All of this is happening in spite of the
prevalent climate of political polarization and confrontation.

Fundaci?n Solaris (http://www.solaris.org.ve/) ?a local NGO that supports
these efforts- has opened an online forum (http://www.solaris.org.ve/foro/),
and it?s making a call to individuals and organized communities in and
outside Venezuela to exchange ideas with Montalban?s leaders (invitation
copy below). They are avid of information about similar experiences. Moving
beyond local and national government intervention, they recently concluded
the first round in the design of their county?s strategic map tapping local
problems in areas such education, health and employment. The forum is held
in Spanish. For more information about the Montalb?n?s experience, contact
