The 'net does resolve signalling distance (for those who have access). Bits do
travel globally and very fast - look, I'm replying sitting here in the west
coast to some chick in flatlands. The communication space did collapse, I'd say
that most of us internally think of internet as an area about 5 miles (8km)
wide, with approximately circular shape :-) (is there any "art" on internet
visualisation ?)

But communications space is not, contrary to "visionaries", so important after
all. The 'net itself today is the most prominent rebuttal of cyber-space
theories. 

Meatspace rulez. Pass the ammo.
