<nettime> Ruling NuSphere ./. MySQL |
For those of you interested in the first "GNU GPL trial". Judge Saris has ruled on the preliminary injunction motion in MySQL AB ./. Progress Software (NuSphere) that Progress Software is enjoined from marketing products under the MySQL trademarks until trial. On the matter of Progress' distribution rights under GNU GPL, she has not granted an injunction. While Progress Software appears to be presently in compliance with the GNU GPL, there is probably no irreparable harm being caused to MySQL AB, thus no room for an injunction. Free Software Foundation has issued a press release: http://www.gnu.org/press/2002-03-01-pi-MySQL.html All the best Mikael _________________________________________________________________________ ICQ:35638414 mailto:mikael@pawlo.com +46-704-215825 http://www.pawlo.com/ # distributed via <nettime>: no commercial use without permission # <nettime> is a moderated mailing list for net criticism, # collaborative text filtering and cultural politics of the nets # more info: majordomo@bbs.thing.net and "info nettime-l" in the msg body # archive: http://www.nettime.org contact: nettime@bbs.thing.net
