Texaco-istan: or Gulf War II

We now know that the US government planned to attack the Taliban over 2
months before 11 September 2001. We also know that there is oil in
Tajikistan and that the Taliban refused to allow the US to pipe this oil
across Afghanistan to the Gulf.

Is the US attacking Afghanistan so that they can replace the Taliban? Does
the US want to replace the Taliban with a government that will permit
pipes to carry oil across Afghanistan? Is the US attacking Afghanistan to
enable and ensure cheaper oil for US businesses?

If George Dublya Bush was not from Texas, if oil money had not been part
of the US election process and democracy had not been conflated with
capitalism we could have more confidence in the answers to these
questions.
