<nettime> EU decision on transparency

On 3 May, the new regulations regarding transparency in the EU were
adopted by the European Parliament. The result of the vote was: 400 for,
85 opposed to the decision.

The decision has been critized by Ben Hayes on this mailinglist (Nettime).

Hayes writes:
rather than having a positive effect on transparency, the new code (which
was all but formally agreed in secret "trilogue" meetings between the
Council, Commission and Parliament) seriously undermines existing rights
of public access to documents.
