<nettime> The people vs economic globalisation (ftta)


Edition 10 of The Paper features a story about the goings on in the Americas
regarding the FTAA.

It didn't start in Seattle; it won't end in Quebec. 

Throughout the Americas, citizens are preparing for what are expected to be the
largest anti-corporate protests since the Seattle demonstrations against the
WTO in November of 1999. 

>From April 20th - 22nd in Quebec City, Canada, the Summit of the Americas is
meeting to negotiate the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). Heads of State
and Trade Ministers from throughout the Americas and Caribbean will gather to
advance what many are calling "NAFTA on steroids"....
