Curators: Barnaby Drabble + Dorothee Richter Szuper Gallery is an artist group founded in 1995. It represents a mutating bureaucracy and freefloating gallery environment. It is a metaphor for an art practice within an institutional context. We aim to look anew at the image of the artist's profession and place of work. We speculate on the future functions of art and artists in society. Szuper Gallery enters institutions: the police, Christies' auction house, Bloomberg Television, and now the stockexchange in Munich and asks whether it is possible to realise and transform artistic intention in an institutional context. By 'changing places' utopian or ironic perspectives emerge. The video, "Contemporary Art", filmed at Bloomberg Television was a starting point of this exploration of the media and the financial world.
