Next to blood brother Dylan Cristy (Dylan Group), the band's current line-up includes new regular member Doug Scharin (Him), as well as German violinist Dorothea Tachler, whose sweet string sounds gave Mice Parade's last release "Mokoondi" a fresh new flavour. For fans it will be extremely interesting to see how these new elements harmonise with the improvised parts in Mice Parade's live stages.... http://www.realtokyo.co.jp/english/4weeks/0034-tachibana.htm ================================================================= (2) Out of Tokyo 013: ================================================================= From Isolation to an Open Country? text by Ozaki Tetsuya On May 22 an event including a lecture and lunch with Robert Menard was hosted by The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan in Yurakucho. Menard represents the "Reporters Without Borders (RSF: Reporters Sans Frontieres)," who promote the media's freedom of speech, and criticise suppression by authorities. After specifying a number of examples, including reports that "more than 1000 journalists lost their lives in the '90s," "40 people are in jail in Rangoon at the moment," "in China several members of the system-opponent net are under arrest," etc., he asked the Japanese media to perform with a stronger sense of duty..... http://www.realtokyo.co.jp/en/column/ozaki.htm ================================================================= (3) Present of the Week ================================================================= We've prepared lots of presents!
