The project is curated by Luisa Mizzoni [alias luxi lu] and Emilio Corti with the patronage of Ministero della Gioventù and Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti, Città di Torino, Regione Piemonte.
Festival and competition's entry form are articulated in two sections:
- VIDEO : (short film, videoart, computer art): to be screened at Cinema Massimo on May 28, 2010 and replayed the following two days at Hiroshima Mon Amour.
- LIVE MEDIA : audiovisual performances to be held on May 29 and 30, at Hiroshima Mon Amour.
Cultural association Alfavì has conceived and developed the Middle Age settlement of Cavatore (AL), the Cronosfera Festival (www.cronosferafestival.com), an event dedicated to art, science and science fiction, including the international competition Visions from the Future as an important section of the Festival.
After the first edition in 2008, dedicated to past, present and future imagined in a sci-fi context, this second edition, Visions from the Future turns bright looks to the earth and the sky inspired by cosmological and cosmogonic visions, explores the alchemy of our earth, our history, the social evolution, spirituality and the mysteries surrounding man.
Today more than ever the reflection on persona
l and collective future, Science and Science Fiction' has shifted from a sociological to a personal and daily context, in a plot of past, present and future more and more intriguing.
Visions from the Future 2008 has heightened from Italy and abroad, a great variety of high quality videos, from short films to animation, that displaced an intense and mutating visionary imagery.
The catalogue of the event is available in bookshops, libraries and foundations all over Europe, and can also be requested through the website.
