<nettime-ann> [Rainer Prohaska] "Restaurant Transformable [Directors Cut]" + "80+1"-Panel // Los Angeles / Linz

.
1.) "Restaurant Transformable [Directors Cut]"

A project by Rainer Prohaska during the MAK Schindler Scholarship

Mackey Apartments
Los Angeles / USA
April - September 2009

http://www.rainer-prohaska.net

MAK Center Artist in Residence Rainer Prohaska has installed a mixture
of cooking-lab, studio and restaurant into his home at the Mackey
apartments in Los Angeles. In this space, which will permanently be
updated and extended, cooking performances are staged frequently.

These audiovisual performances are dealing aesthetically with the topic
of automation. The kitchen is designed like a production line for
dishes, which is not operated by machines, but by humans. Additionally
to this installation, he exhibits fine art objects (related to "food and
cooking processes"), talks about upcoming works and provides a dinner
for the audience.

Entry is free, donation is requested. Your donation will help ensure the
success of the project. Seating is very limited. RSVP to
mail@rainer-prohaska.net or call +1 323 202 0905 to make a reservation.

For extra presentations, guided tours or performances, please contact
Rainer Prohaska as well.
