Dada faces judgement day

The birthplace of Dadaism, Cabaret Voltaire, might be forced
to close its doors at the end of this month. The fate of the
centre lies in the hands of the voters of Zurich who will
decide whether to end its subsidy of CHF315,000 a year. The
right-wing Swiss People.s Party forced the vote. And it.s
not the only venue in the canton threatened by the party.s
campaign against what it says is excessive arts funding.
