Urban Screens Melbourne 08 Mobile Publics Conference, Federation Square: 3-5 October 2008 Multimedia Program: 3-8 October 2008 USM08: Mobile Publics is the 3rd international conference that will explore the changing relations between media, culture and cities. Mobile Publics will address the new forms of public participation and interaction created by media-dense environments. By engaging a wide range of stakeholders with distinctive interests in media and public space, the conference will promote new multi-disciplinary frameworks for understanding innovative public uses of technology, media and art in contemporary cities. Two earlier conferences in this series were held in Amsterdam (2005) and Manchester (2007).
