We offer a stimulating, research-focused environment with a strong commitment to delivering the highest standard of teaching and learning. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an ability to provide leadership in critically informed Media Practice, within the overall context of the Department of Media and Film, the ability to maintain a practice-as-research profile of the highest level of excellence within the postholder's specialist field, and the ability to develop partnerships with outside bodies. Applications from any area of Media Practice will be welcomed, but we are particularly interested in applicants with an understanding of emerging formats in media practice such as online or mobile film and television. Candidates with additional strengths in dramatic/fiction film, digital/interactive media, radio and/or photography will be especially welcomed. +++++ Lecturer in Media Practice - Photography (Part time) Department of Media and Film School of Humanities Ref 202 <http://www.sussex.ac.uk/Units/staffing/personnl/vacs/vac203.shtml> Permanent, part time (0.3) Expected Start date: 1 September 2008 The Department of Media and Film is seeking to make a 0.3 appointment in Media Practice (Photography). We offer a stimulating, research-focused environment with a strong commitment to delivering the highest standard of teaching and learning. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an ability to teach critically informed practice courses in photography at undergraduate and postgraduate level, to provide supervision of practical projects in photography at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and to maintain a strong profile of practice as research. They should have a good first degree or equivalent in a relevant area, experience of teaching photographic practice within Higher Education, and experience of practice as research in an academic context.
