<nettime-ann> Fwd: GNN's Stephen Marshall launches new book |
. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: GNN <info@gnn.tv> Date: May 13, 2007 9:12 PM Subject: GNN's Stephen Marshall launches new book To: xchicago@gmail.com
Guerrillas,
We are excited to announce the launch of Wolves in Sheep's Clothing: The New Liberal Menace in America, a new book by Sundance-ward winning film-maker and GNN co-founder Stephen Marshall. A life-long critics of the right, Marshall turns his focus on the liberal elite who have dumped the '60s era radicalism of their youth and become complicit in a complex game of bait-and-switch, selling the world a vision of liberal democracy in which they, in fact, no longer believe.
In the tradition of Tom Wolfe and Hunter S. Thompson, Marshall, hits the road and travels from the front lines of the Iraq War, through the wasteland of the former communist Eastern bloc, into a coke-dusted sex party of Britain's intellectual elite, and into the minds of America's most influential liberal figures. Marshall recounts his meetings and conversations with liberal sell-outs and their critics, including Christopher Hitchens, Gore Vidal, David Horowitz, Lewis Lapham, Naomi Klein, John Avlon, the Economist's John Micklethwait, the Guardian's editor-in-chief Alan Rusbridger and best-selling authors Todd Gitlin, Paul Berman and John Perkins.
The book has just hit the on-line sellers and already the reviews are heralding the arrival of a powerful new voice in political writing. Check out Stephen's blogs and learn about the book at the Wolves site.
We are selling Wolves at GNN, so please support the site by visiting our store
For New York Guerrillas, there will be a launch party this Tuesday, May 13 at 7:00 pm @ Mo Pitkins, 34 Avenue A in Manhattan. Stephen will join GNN's Anthony Lappe for a live Q and A in the War Room. Please join us!
