Two (young and talented) prize winners in this week´s playlist. Floris Kaayk recently won the Kunstbeeld ArtOlive Award 2006 for his film Metalosis Maligna and Till Novak has received the Jury Prize for the best animation movie at the 17th Week of Fantasy Cinema of San Sebastian for his film " Delivery". Also a new video by Michael Bell-Smith called Every Building On The Sunset Strip (Internet Re-Creation). Further “Homage to Jannis Kounellis”, which was a special highlight at Art Cologne 2006. At the RESFEST´s 2006 one of the highlights is the work of PES. Dogs of War by PES in the playlist.

Metalosis Maligna by Floris Kaayk is a fictitious documentary about a spectacular yet chronically disabling disease which affects patients who have been fitted with medical implants. Sourcing from such implants a wild metal growth ultimately transforms human patients into mechanical looking constructions.

RESFEST’s 2006 global tour marks the 10th anniversary of the pioneering film and digital arts festival, which kicked off this year with a special presentation in Chicago at the Museum of Contemporary Art, from October 19-22, followed one day later by its Paris debut at the esteemed Pompidou Center. The festival will continue on to more than 43 cities on six continents around the world, captivating audiences with its signature mix of innovative film screenings, informative panels, experiential parties and cutting-edge performances.

One of the works exhibited at the group show of digital animation Animated Stories, that will be opened until January 7th 2007 at sala rekalde in Bilbao, has received the Jury Prize for the best animation movie at the 17th Week of Fantasy Cinema of San Sebastian. The short film is "Delivery", by the German artist Till Nowak. As the winner of this festival, "Delivery" has been automatically nominated for the "Gold Méliès" to the Best Short Fantastic European Film, that is given by the European Federation of Festivals of Fantastic Cinema.

A new video by Michael Bell-Smith. For this video slide show,he attempted to recreate Ed Ruscha's Every Building on the Sunset Strip site unseen, by piecing together information and images from Amazon's (suddenly and mysteriously defunct) A9 mapping website.

A special highlight at Art Cologne 2006 was an exhibition of the work of Jannis Kounellis, a major Arte Povera artist (literally, “poor art”), titled “Homage to Jannis Kounellis”. The exhibition featured a reconstruction of one of his most famous works, the spectacular installation Untitled (12 Horses). The original was staged in 1969 at Galleria L’Attico in Rome. It consisted of a group of twelve live horses tethered in the gallery. The exhibition also featured a Kounellis portfolio titled Opus One. By VernissageTV
