TRACING UNDERCURRENTS invites you to sample the diversity of the=20
Israeli experimental sound scene.

=A0Israel, being a country of immigrants boasts a culturally rich and=20
diverse tradition.=A0However, more often than not these expressions

been limited to the more traditional arts.=A0The mid-nineties
however,=20=

have seen a surge in experimental audio work, coming especially from=20
Jerusalem.=A0In addition independent labels flourished in Jerusalem,

city which is in effect the conflict embodied and has seen many of
its=20=

young people move abroad or to cosmopolitan Tel-Aviv. Tracing=20
Undercurrents tries to map the cultural and musical diversity of=20
contemporary experimental music=85tracing routes in-between Jerusalem =
and=20
Tel-Aviv, looking for aesthetic convergences and differences, and=20
probing the contextual conditions for experimental sound production
in=20=

Israel.=A0For the first time it brings 11 young cutting-edge
performers=20=

to The Netherlands whose musical repertoires range from electro-pop,=20
clicks and cuts, noise, to experimental DJ sets and experimental=20
electronic delicacies.=A0In composition, as in its diversity
