<nettime-ann> [event] George Legrady will make visible the invisible, in Paris Sept 23rd |
George Legrady's presentation in the ICHIM conference will summarize the diverse and complementary interests expressed by the attendance. http://ichim05.ichim.org/jahia/Jahia/pid/507 "Making Visible the Invisible" is a commission for the Seattle Public Library. The installation consists of animated visualizations on 6 plasma screens located on a glass wall behind the librarians' main information desk in the Mixing Chamber, a large open public space dedicated to online computer research. The 6 screens feature visualization generated by custom designed statistical and algorithmic software that map the flow of data received from the library's Information Technology center. The project focuses on data flow and the library as a data exchange center where the circulation of books can be made visible and expressed statistically: http://www.mat.ucsb.edu/~g.legrady/glWeb/Projects/spl/spl.html http://128.111.221.74/parsing/parsing.php George Legrady's talk is scheduled on Sept 23rd, at 9:30 am in the Bibliotheque nationale de France, during the ICHIM conference session "Exhibiting, curating and promoting art involving technologies" that will also gather Helmut Hoellerl from Ars Electronica and Prof. Jean-Louis Boissier who will share his experience with a paper titled: "Les arts interactifs s'exposent-ils". http://ichim05.ichim.org/jahia/Jahia/lang/fr/pid/537 More to come on http://www.ichim.org stay tuned! _______________________________________________ nettime-ann mailing list nettime-ann@nettime.org http://www.nettime.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nettime-ann
